Snowboarding Hillbilly Style

How to Snowboard Hillbilly Style for your Daddy Daughter Date:

1. Park at the local ski resort for free.
2. Buy NO lift passes.
3. HIKE up the nicely groomed bunny hill.
4. Snowboard down.
5. Hike back up the bunny hill.
6. Repeat for 3 hours!

She loved it!
It was FINALLY Alyssa's turn to go snowboarding! Chad and Sarah have been going for years but we kept waiting for Alyssa to be old enough for the stamina and patience it requires. For years everything was "Too hard, too heavy." But no more! She did awesome and Dad ran down the mountain after her cheering her on. Just the thought of it is so endearing.

No job offer yet, but it's coming soon. I found out the closest ski resort to Houston is over 1000 miles away in New Mexico. That makes me sad because the kids really love boarding and we have several resorts in our backyard. Geesh, we love this place we call home! Possibly having to leave it too painful to even think about.

I think parent/kid dates are the best thing ever. Those are the main memories I have of my parents when I was little. It's awesome that you guys can make ANYTHING be fun - will you come teach me how to do that better? Lots of love to you... I'm thinking of you during this crazy time.

So much fun! You guys are so great at keeping up with your dates with your kids. Good job!

So, do you seriously think you're moving to Houston? At least you won't have to deal with "the death of summer!" (mixed emotions, I'm sure)

What a cutie -- how fun! I love how you do your one-on-one dates with the kids. What is your schedule for doing them? How often do you each go with the kiddos? I love the whole idea of it.

Eleven hours? Wow. Even Phoenix is just a couple hours South of snow and slopes! (And only 6 hours East of Chad and Nicole's "beach house"!) ;)

Thats awesome that she is boarding.. from experience.. it is too hard and too heavy.. way to go!!! As for Houston.. you'd only be a few hours from us..yeah team.. and snow activities get replaced by water activities.. we wakeboard instead of snowbard..you'll learn to love if you have too!! :) Enjoy the back yard boarding!!!
