Five years ago I had a passion. And that was bulbs. All bulbs. I planted 1000 (the exact number, not exaggerating) bulbs. Alyssa was crawling at the time, eating the dirt, and rolling in the holes I was digging. Everyone gasps when they hear I planted 1000 bulbs. But in addition to tulips and daffodils, some are small crocus or
muscari and all bloom at various times so it never looks like 1000.

Saturday the kids all pitched in to plant annuals.

Ava wanted to wear a hat like everyone else, but she chose this one! She had a blast digging for worms and found several.
I love to plant fully stuffed overflowing pots with hot colors and add something new to my faves every year. So this year I discovered...

STAR verbena! Love them.

And also NEW this year I'm adding orange to the palette and not planting licorice. I will miss the beautiful soft velvet silvery leaves of my licorice, but it overpowers everything at the end of the season so I'll try without just once. Happy growing!

You still need to post a picture of all your bulbs in bloom! I'd love to see all the tulips, etc.
Take a picture with all the annuals you did too!
PS This year I got a lot of leaves, but not a lot of tulips. Any suggestions? Separate them? Fertilize the soil?
