Every year I'm amazed at the quality of productions Sarah's ballet school performs! They are full french ballets...like the Nutcracker...with
storylines and backdrops and professional dancers that travel from afar added to the cast. Sarah absolutely glowed with the HUGEST grin as she performed. She was a Russian doll this year and especially loved being carried off stage sideways by the shopkeeper in a comedic gesture.

The cheering section!

A very proud
mamacita.

Midweek we spent time here at Mom and Dad's. I took this picture on a very fragrant walk with Mom. I LOVE sticking my nose in the crevices of a
ponderosa pine. The smell is intoxicating...a mixture of sweet vanilla and maple. I am amazed at how many people are not aware of the magic in those crevices. And the white wildflowers in this picture smelled like jasmine! A joyful new discovery for me.

I brought up our fishing gear and had a blast! Dad taught me new knots and line assembling techniques. Another dream come true of mine. My goal this summer is to spend less time at theme parks and more time fishing. There is something so pure, calming, and connecting about the art of fishing! I have the best memories of fishing with my Dad.

The geese were eating out of Mom's and Ava's hands! Ava had no fear.

Even Ava was
holding the pole and reeling in the line all by herself.

Grandma taught the girls how to make her famous marshmallow flower cupcakes. It was a sweet moment in many ways. Somehow we always come home from Mom and Dad's with more than we came with. How can we as children ever give back to them???
My mother-in-law has said that "love trickles down", so hopefully I can pay them back by being the best parent I can be to my children. Mom and Dad are such generous spirits and I love them with all my soul and then some!

Visiting your parents sounds like a bit of heaven on Earth. How sweet!
Sarah's dance school looks amazing. It's so hard to find a good quality place sometimes.
Your family is so adorable. It was fun checking out your blog. Your daughter is a gorgeous ballerina, and how sad to have Chad gone for so long. I don't like the feeling of our kids are growing so fast. You are like the best mom. Look at those rollerblading skills!! You are awesome.
You can tell Sarah is a graceful girl just by looking at the photos. How beautiful! And I always love the things you post about your trips to your parents. I understand the joy.
So I met Megan and Shane on Saturday! Shane's grandma was in our ward, so I was at the church during the funeral. In fact, Carter was one of the THIRTY kids I watched during the service. = ) Small world, eh?
Fishing together does add that little something special to a father-daughter relationship. I too LOVED fishing with my dad.
