I recently made a life list...

I've accomplished many already:

1. Helicopter ride - check.
2. Learn to bake home made bread - check.
3. Take our very first nice family photo this month - um...we now have a problem.

Guilty.
A mullet. The evidence. (These curls will take a year to grow back. Boo hoo.)

Chad's charter school went camping for 3 days and it was all colonial themed. I again was in awe of the beauty of the earth. The river was gorgeous and I wanted to fly fish it so badly! I taught the weaving class and was happy to be there to keep an eye on my Chaddy. He LOVED it even though I thought the kids could have been friendlier to him. I mean this guy is the most fun dude I know! Always upbeat and entertaining. Those kids are missing out. I was in heaven driving up with him and taking walks together. I just soak in every moment with him.

We finished the week with Russ getting called into the bishopric of our newly formed ward. I feel pretty peaceful about the whole thing because he's done it twice before. Still trying to figure out how that will work with my stake calling and ward conferences??? Sitting by myself at church...eek. Double eek. When our new bishop with a very young family was sustained the Spirit told me that he and his wife are great examples of humility and faith. And I was also so very happy it's their turn and not ours!

Kara and Blake are awesome. . I mean, bishop ballif! :) They were part of our "crew" down in turtle creek and were the first couple that we had lined up to buy our house! :( They couldn't sell theirs though. . . but, they were almost living in my house!

I just left a note for you on my blog on the entry you commented on (thought I'd let you know just in case)

Anyway....you look beautiful and like you belong on Little House on the Prarie. I LOVE it! You're a doll :)

Sorry about the hair. That stinks! Must all families have a child who does that? I was the one in my family so I guess I shouldn't talk ;)

I love how much you love Chad. How lucky you are to have him and him to have you. A mother-son match made in heaven!

oh my with the hair cut.. knock on wood.. we have remained self cut free in our house.. and thankfully.. cause my girls have thin hair that takes forever to grow.. it does grow though.. good thing they are so cute they can pull it off!!! Love the camping.. and the little house on the prarie with tennis shoes.. love it.. and I can totally picture Russ in the bishopric.. your family is a true example humility and faith too!!!

Both of my girls did the hair cutting thing but luckily they were tiny and those chubby little fingers couldn't do too much damage.

The new ward is so exciting! One of the things I love most about leadership changes is how the Spirit confirms the Lords appointments. I'm not sure if congrats is the right expression but it's clear that you guys are living your lives in a way that allows the Lord to use you.

Yes, boo-hoo about the self-haircut. What a bummer.

I need to make a life's list of all things I have already done so I can feel good about myself. ;)

Leah,
I feel so stupid that I have not responded to your comments on our blog. Obviously I am horrible at it and am not the one that keeps it updated. My girls are much better at it than me. So Delaney was going through all the old comments today and said,"Mom, who is Leah?" I about died! I have totally tried to find you but had no idea how to. I had forgotten your sister's married name that lives in Mesquite.

So today I had such a great time strolling through your blog. What a darling family you have. I love that you are close by your parents and get to enjoy them so much...I dream of the day.

You will have to email me your phone# so we can chat and catch up. avest at infowest.com

Again, I am so sorry for not finding your comments for months. i can't wait to talk to you again.
